the heft of loss

Loss and grief in the human realm, 

at times seem far too much to bear.

Its presence carries a blanket of weight

That can completely overwhelm.

The heavier the blanket, the longer it takes

To feel the lightness of spirit that is the truth.

The truth that the love and connection wants

To be realized in all its magic,

By way of signs sent from beloveds to the loved.
